Q1. What was the one moment that gave you the idea to do something so awesome?
It started at work, I was looking for an activity to gather all my colleagues together for our annual Iftar and alongside do something good in order to give back to the community.
The Ramadan Fridges was the biggest inspiration to me, so I suggested to collect some money from my group and buy food for the construction workers and visit them on the sites to distribute them.
The joy and happiness on the face of the workers was unimaginable and has left an imprint on my heart. It was indeed a small effort on our side but it meant a lot to them. So I spoke to my friends about it and they were as excited as me and that is how we ended up collecting around 2,000 AED and packing 300 meals for the workers.
We are planning to do this very often.
Q2. If you had to describe the complete journey of this initiative in one word, what would it be?
Q3. Anyone special you would like to thank who stood by you in this entire campaign?
I would like to thank my friends, Olivia, Meriyem, Marc, Sebastien, Solen and Maxime for their enthusiasm
Q4. What was the best part of this entire campaign according to you?
I will always remember the expression of gratitude on their faces, that was thoroughly fulfilling. A small deed like this has given us an understanding of how important it is to make sure we keep sharing small joys like these constantly.
Q5. Any message for the ones reading this?
I would really encourage people to help others in any way they can. We can all change the world by giving time, food, clothes etc.. I also invite people to register to Dubai Cares, a philanthropic organization created by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. They organize amazing missions and are constantly looking for volunteers.
